Front Range Boot
Camp Common Questions
How do I sign up now?
Go to the registration
page and download the proper file. Fill out the appropriate forms
and follow the payment instructions. The sooner you get your
registration in, the better we can ensure you get in the camp you want.
Once we've received your registration information, we'll contact you to
schedule your pre-camp evaluation. Remember, each camp sells out. Register
early!
1.
We want to know about YOU. What do you want to achieve by
participating in boot camp? What are your specific goals? What
support can we provide to empower you to reach them?
2.
We will have you step on the scale and measure your weight, hydration
level, body composition, muscle mass, physique rating, metabolic age,
bone density, basil metabolic rate, and visceral fat. We will also take
measurements around your tricep, waist, hip and upper thigh to see
where you are prior to beginning camp. The actual measurements (number
of inches) don't matter. We want to know how much you improve during
the camp. It's strictly for a post-camp comparison. These numbers and
all other information will be held in the strictest confidence.
3.
How about your current nutrition program? We will ask you basic
questions about your current diet, the importance of good nutrition as
it relates to your success in reaching all your fitness goals and how
we can support you.
4.
We will teach you the proper form for all the new exercises that you
will be performing in boot camp so that you will be confident and
prepared to have a great workout each and every time you come to camp!
5.
We will go over what you need to bring, what to wear and what to
expect and give you your Boot Camp T-shirt.
What
do I need to bring to camp?
You will need to bring one set of 5 - 8 lb.
hand weights and an exercise mat. We do not recommend
yoga mats as they wear out fast. Target has mats that are about 1/4"
thick. You will also want to bring water to keep yourself hydrated
during camp. Have a hat and warm gloves in your car at all times in
case we warm up outside via a short run. Dress in layers...even
if it is chilly, you will get warm very fast!
Will I
be sore sometimes?
Most people feel some soreness for the first
2-3 days. This is because you are working every muscle in your body at
the same time, probably for the first time in a long time! After that
point, muscle soreness is slight to moderate.
Is
there a diet program included?
A free nutrition seminar is included in the cost
of boot camp. Nutritional support and guidance is also provided
although a specific diet program is not included.
What
kinds of women join boot camp?
Women just like you. Women who want to feel
better, have more energy, lose weight and body fat and get stronger so
they can be better at whatever they choose to pursue in life. There are
women from the ages of 26 to 64. Women who want to get faster in a
sport they play, as well as women who have not exercised in years.
There are women who want to lose alot of weight and women who simply
want to become more athletic.
What is a typical day in boot camp like?
There is no typical day in boot camp. That is what makes it so fun and
so successful! Your mind and your body are constantly challenged
because each day is different in terms of the exercises you will be
doing and the format you will be doing them in. Sometimes you are
working in a group, sometimes with a partner, sometimes with yourself.
However, each day begins with a dynamic warm-up followed
by a 30-45 minute full body workout that may include resistance bands,
medicine balls, dumbbells, body weight exercises, kettlebells,
plyometrics, circuit training, cardio and more. Each
workout burns an average of 600-800 calories. Camp ends with a
series of gentle yoga stretches.
How
soon will I see results?
Performance improvement can take place in as
little as three days. You will feel better and be more awake almost
immediately. "Visual Improvement" can take from two to four weeks
depending on your effort level. Remember, everyone is different! It's
not a competition, so focus on your individual results and have fun.
.
What other events are included
or offered?
You are joining a community of women who become
friends very quickly because of what you are experiencing. Other events
and activities outside of your workouts include hiking, snowshoe
trips, ski days, hut trips, and educational or community related
events. You will receive more details about special events during
the course of camp.
What if
I need more individual attention?
The class sizes are small enough so that you
will receive individual attention during each workout. Your coach
is dedicated to learning about YOU and all of your needs and will
address those during the duration of your workout.
